This first video shows how to use a number of Woodland Scenics products to transform an unfinished white plaster hillside into a realistic hillside with rocks, grass, bushes and a tree. Shows some very nice brush techniques. Also shows how to attach fine and coarse turf, bushes, and even a fantastic looking tree. This is an eight minute video goes by very quickly.
Model Railroad Scenery using Extruded Foam: Part 1
This is part one of a multi part series on using Extruded Foam. Shows the different sizes of extruded foam that are readily available at home improvement centers. Also shows the type of foam you do not want to use. Then shows the basic tools you want to cutting and shaping the foam including a drywall say, a hacksaw blade, a utility knife, a rasp, a metal ruler, a putty knife, and a screwdriver. The layout in the demonstration is N scale. A very thorough series.

Here is a nice series on Model Scenery from Worlds Greatest Hobby. Shows how to create a foam hillside, create a rock face, simulate water, make roads, and create trees. Uses materials that are readily available from hobby shops and building supply stores. Starts with laying some cork. Then goes into foam and plaster work. Next shows using a road building kit. Finally, shows using acrylic paint to decorate a rock face. The layout in the demonstration is HO scale.
